Ophthalmological Evaluation Program
Ophthalmological evaluation program | Eye Consultations are offered at either Camilo Cienfuegos International Retinitis Pigmentosa Center or Cubano de Oftalmología Ramon Pando Ferrer. The two centers are considered to be some of the world’s most renown ophthalmology research and teaching hospitals. Both centers are located in Havana/ Cuba and offer Eye Consultation Services. Both hospitals offer consultation and diagnosis, treatment and surgical procedures, in addition to emergency services and care, as well as outpatient services. The hospitals pride themselves with being equipped with state-of-the-art Ophthalmological equipment intended for the effective diagnosis, treatment and surgical procedure of various eye conditions.
The Ophthalmological Checkup Programs include the following services:
Retinitis Pigmentosa Checkup
Specialized Retinitis Pigmentosa consultation includes ophthalmologic medical examination: biomicroscopy, tonometry, fundus¡, Visual acuity, refraction, electrophysiological studies, perimetry, optical coherence tomography
Myopia, Hyperopia and Astigmatism Checkup
Specialized Refractive Error consultation includes ophthalmologic medical examination: biomicroscopy, tonometry, and fundus. Refraction, Corneal Topography, Perimetry, pneumotonometry, aberrometry endothelial microscopy
Retina Checkup
Specialized Retina Consultation includes ophthalmologic medical examination: biomicroscopy, tonometry, and fundus. Indirect ophthalmoscopy
Glaucoma Checkup
Specialized Glaucoma Consultation includes ophthalmologic medical examination: biomicroscopy, tonometry, and fundus. Refraction, computed erimetry, gonioscopy, ocular tomography, Central perimetry and pneumotonometry
Cataract Checkup
Specialized Cataract surgery consultation includes ophthalmologic medical examination: biomicroscopy, tonometry, and fundus. Endothelial microscopy, Calculation of intraocular lens, refraction, pneumotonometry
Cornea Checkup
Specialized Cornea consultation includes ophthalmologic medical examination: Biomicroscopy, tonometry, fundus. Refraction, endothelial microscopy, tachometer, corneal topography, Aberrometry, pneumotonometry
Oculoplasty Evaluation
Specialized Oculoplasty consultation includes ophthalmologic medical examination: biomicroscopy, tonometry, and fundus. Refraction, Schirmer test, ocular ultrasound, Biometrics, exploration of tear ducts, exophthalmometry and Visual Field
PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
- The above program does not include medications for certain conditions such as depression, blood coagulation, etc.
- Medicaments, fluids, blood and derivatives to be used, as well as additional procedure(s) performed not included in the exact treatment would be invoiced separately on upon the conclusion of said treatment / procedure(s)

ADDITIONAL SERVICES INCLUDED IN THE PROGRAM:
- Assistance in visa issuance and extension (If needs be)
- Each patient/ companion will be assigned a multi-lingual field member with the mandate of attending to all of our patients’ translation and personal needs;
- 20 hours internet service;
- Local airport pickup and drop off; and
- Hospital pickup and drop off (if needed)
