Covered Risks and Coverage Limits
Medical Expenses

Includes:

  • Medical-surgical expenses resulting from a sudden illness or accident.
  • Dental expenses: Covered up to a limit of $500.00 USD for emergency treatments due to infection, pain, or trauma.
  • Pharmaceutical expenses.
  • Hospitalization expenses.
  • Initial urgent care for pre-existing conditions.
  • Accommodation expenses for an accompanying person when the insured is a child and/or incapacitated.
  • Medical expenses for a pregnant insured presenting a medical emergency, provided no negligence is involved.
  • Convalescence expenses, when prescribed by the treating physician, for five or more days of hospitalization, including an accompanying person for children and/or incapacitated individuals (limited to accommodation expenses).
  • Expenses related to COVID-19 treatment.
  • One annual ophthalmology evaluation

Repatriation and Transportation

Coverage Limit: $20,000.00 USD
Includes:

  • Transportation of the insured to the nearest hospital with necessary facilities. The mode of transport will be decided by the Assistance Company in coordination with the medical team.
  • In case of death, arrangements and transportation of the body to the place of origin of the trip.
  • Penalties for changing the return ticket date if hospitalization prevents the insured from returning on the scheduled date.
  • Transportation of a family member to accompany the insured during hospitalization for more than ten days, provided the hospitalization period is within the coverage duration plus seven additional days (economy class air ticket).
EXCLUSIONS
  1.  This policy is intended for students enrolled in undergraduate or postgraduate academic programs. As such, the minimum coverage period is one year. Students pursuing short-term academic courses must purchase coverage through our Travel Insurance
  2. Medical services not requested through the insurer.
  3. Treatments or medical checkups unrelated to the diagnosed illness or injury.
  4. Incidents resulting from intentional actions by the insured or policyholder.
  5. Pre-existing physical or mental disabilities and chronic conditions, except in cases of emergency medical care.
  6. Medical issues resulting from the intentional ingestion of toxins or drugs, alcohol abuse, or the use of medication without a valid prescription.
  7. Prosthetic devices, anatomical parts, orthopedic aids, hearing aids, and eyeglasses.
  8. Pregnancy, childbirth, and abortion, regardless of cause, except in emergencies not resulting from negligence.
  9. Expenses related to special coffins, funerals, or burial ceremonies.
  10. Injuries or conditions arising from war (declared or undeclared), civil unrest, public demonstrations, terrorism, sabotage, or labor strikes.
  11. Injuries sustained while participating in dangerous competitions, training, testing, gambling, or hazardous hobbies—except when officially participating as an athlete in sanctioned competitions or training programs.

  1. Cancelation is due to interruption caused by either the country you are departing from, the Republic of Cuba, the departing airport or airliner.
  2. Written denial of visa or visa extension
