HOSPITAL DE REHABILITACIÓN – JULIO DÍAZ is the leading academic medical center providing international patients with specialized health services for both adults and children. The center offers extensive treatments as well as rehabilitation programs for neurological, rheumatic, musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, and respiratory diseases, in an inpatient and outpatient setting.

Originally established in 1957 as a home for patients with physical and mental challenges, in 1962 it expanded to becoming a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Center for the population at large and for international patients.

By 1989, the center began carrying out clinical research activities to evaluate therapeutic procedures that can facilitate the return to normalcy and recovery.

The Julio Diaz National Rehabilitation Hospital has positioned itself as a world-renowned hospital known for its excellent care by having among its faculty teams of highly qualified medical specialists and therapists directly advised by Dr. C. Jorge Luis González Roig, president of the Cuban Scientific Society of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

Additionally, the Julio Diaz National Rehabilitation Hospital has a large number of medical teams specializing in Internal Medicine, Orthopedics, Traumatology, Pneumology, Cardiology, Neurology, Angiology, and Urology, among others. Currently, the Julio Díaz Rehabilitation Center offers academic lectures and training for resident physicians, health technicians, physiotherapy technicians, and nurses.
